Reed screens ('chiy') were made of tall grass stems, wrapped with dyed wool fibres and bound together in order to form a highly decorative space divider or screen inside the Kirghiz yurt. A very rare ethnographically interesting item that is a fantastic eye catcher in a modern interior! 118 x 509 cm. Ca 1900 or older.
Condition: good, no restorations, some wearing.
