A so-called ‘banquet-scene’: a female figurine reclining on a couch, the right hand reposing on the stomach, the left one holding an object (cup?). Typically for the Parthian period is the high headdress or tiara, the coffee bean shaped eyes and the frontality of the figure due to the angled torso (a position that revels a Greek influence). Buff colored clay, incised decoration. The backside was flattened with a reed or a stick, its traces still clearly visible. Mesopotamia or Iran, 1ste century BC – 1rst century AD.
