An interesting male figurine wearing an elaborate turban and appliqué necklace, belonging to the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC). Over the shoulders lays an appliqué shawl and we see an applique tie or pendant between the nipples. The fact that arms and legs are separated from the body, the beaklike nose and the protruding eyes point to the Mehrgarh VII period (2800-2600 BC).
Restored at arms and repaired at neck and waist. Nice earthen and mineral deposits. Black manganese paint in the deep hollow eyes. Height 97mm (with mount 125mm), width 33mm, thickness 14mm. Weight 120 gram.
