A pair of gold ear cylinders ‘thuriya’ from 19th century Assam (then ruled by Burma). The cylinders that were worn trough an incision in the ear lobe have lotus flower fronts, set with rubies. Also the circular back sides are set with rubies, as well as part of the shafts (the part that stood out of the earlobe); here some rubies are missing, see pics.
