An extremely decorative drum circle, composed of eight panels in teak wood, gilded and inlaid with glass mosaic. Painted in red dry lacquer. The drum player or players went inside trough the ‘door’ opening and sat down to play drums and/or gongs that hang against the inside of the circle. Remark inscription above the ‘door’. The rich decoration was typical for drum circles reserved for the Burmese royal court. This piece came to Belgium in 1912!

With a glass top on it you have a magnificent table, or you can split it in two times four panels to obtain two half circular consoles (‘demi lunes’).
