A seated female figurine wearing an appliqué veiled headdressing, belonging to the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC). She wears a large multi stranded necklace that falls down over her breasts. Over her hands she has some glove-like wrappings decorated with very fine parallel lines. The fact that arms and legs are separated from the body, the beaklike nose and the protruding eyes point to the Mehrgarh VII period (2800-2600 BC).
Repaired at neck and waist. Nice earthen and mineral deposits. Black manganese paint in the deep hollow eyes and the headdress. Height 105mm (with mount 128mm), width 31mm, thickness 25mm. Weight 135 gram.
